Character's Personality: Eve Dallas is assertive, forthright, abrasive, humorous, driven, cynical, and controlling. Roarke is sophisticated, humorous, gracious, and subtle.

Character's Occupation: She is a homicide detective. He is an impossibly wealthy financier.

Character's Culture / Ethnicity: She's an unspecified white person, and he's Irish.

Character - Other Notable Traits: Both Eve and Roarke, who are married to each other, had abusive fathers and grew up in poverty.  Her father abused her sexually; as a child, she killed him in self-defense.  Roarke's father beat him and involved him in organized crime. Roarke still has many ties to the shadowy underworld of organized crime. Roarke and Eve met on a case in the first book and got married. He's the richest man on the planet.  Even so, Eve has tried to keep her life unchanged, and resists using his underworld connections, computer hacking skills, and money to help her solve her cases.

Location and Time Period: Futuristic New York City: the year 2059. Time passes extremely slowly between the books with each book covering a few days in their lives.

Mystery Subgenre: This series is a daring blend of Mystery (Police Procedural), Romance (Romantic Suspense), and Science Fiction.

Objectionable Material: Profanity, medium to extreme violence, and at least two discreet but passionate sex scenes between Eve and Roarke per novel.
