Well, fiction fans, aside from the Orange Prize, which will be awarded in June, we have to wait until fall for the next flurry of book award events, including the Anthony Awards and Macavity Awards for Mystery Fiction; the National Book Award, the Pulitzer Prize, and other major awards, including this year's Nobel Prize for Literature.
In the meantime, I have some changes for you here at Impatient Reader:
- The Science Fiction and Fantasy reviews and awards lists will be moving permanently to Snortyville.com in the next few weeks.
- I have a new Free Stuff area for giveaways that are fine for people to copy. Right now, this is up-to-date copies of the book awards lists. In the future, I'll be adding book discussion group guides for select books.
- I've started doing Short Summaries of select fiction. Go to index for more info.
- I've expanded the Mysteries Page to include lists of recommended mystery series. Look here to see the publication dates, titles, and order of sequence of books in popular mystery series.
- I've added a Fiction by Topic section that enables you to find recommendations for good books to read. Just figure out on what topic you'd like to read your next novel, look up the topic on the alphabetic list, and see what suggestions I have for you. Go to Fiction by Topic to investigate.
